Will the U.S. ever have a state system of health care?
The South Carolina Republican, appearing on ABC's "This, establishes a firm line in the sand when it comes to creating a public insurance option, insisting that such a proposal would be approved by the United States Senate. "The reason we are not going to have a government health care management approved by the Senate is because it will be devastating for the country" he said. "The last thing in the world believe that Democrats and Republicans do at the end of the day is to create a state system of health care." Steve D: Excellent comment
For all the ignorant shouting run government health care would be a disaster, my answer is that in countries where it is applied properly, works well and costs much less than a private system. For people who say that in Canada the wait time to get to the hospital is a disgrace, I would response in France, for example, to get an appointment quicker than actually in the U.S.. I have dual nationality and I am a doctor (MD) in both countries (USA and France) and I am absolutely ashamed of the U.S. system interests in health insurance companies are governed only by greed. It is absolutely normal for shareholders in an HMO to decide who needs surgery or not. As for costs, would cost far less per capita in a government regulated system, if you compare the cost if everyone was insured in the country. We must also consider the fact that most of my colleagues are greedy and forgot why they chose this profession in the first intention. When I see certain practices where by 1 doctor if you have 5 employees lazy reception, the doctor in order to get a good life needs to raise prices. this is ridiculous. In France, the doctors are up to 1 secretary. patients have a SS card as a credit card that the doctor passes automatically by a machine and sends the invoice. patient does not pay. the physician is paid in 3-4 days by the SS. There, Social Security has no benefits, but keeps the budget in good condition (usually, in fact, with a deficit of modertae). people do not lose their house or belongings because they can not pay the bills. Thus yes they really want our senators were not thinking only for themselves but for the good and the good of our fellow citizens to Jay's dad: this country was founded on the principle that we have to decide for ourselves. This is a poor view. You can have the dollars to obtain private insurance but as soon as you has a precondition, to say goodbye to their coverage. How then can decide for themselves because the system decides for you what you can do

Setting his novel: there's gold in your own backyard
I began my first manuscript during my first year at Virginia Tech I had a couple character in mind, a faint skeleton of a plot, and a pressing question. Where to set the book?
At this point in my life, I had not traveled long after the line of the state of Virginia. And for me, the rest of the world sounded an attractive way to the city that grew up in could not compare.
So I considered my options. My story could take place on an island. A clear establishment attractive. The palms, the sinking sunset pink, water as blue as the egg of a robin. And, of course, brilliant white sand.
Or what about Italy? A place I had always dreamed of going. The olive grove the ringing of church bells beautiful old, faded buildings of stucco.
I put my first manuscripts in kind exactly the locality. The only problem was that I had never been to any of those places. And once I got past the generic, I found myself facing what looked like a vacuum reservoir from which to draw my story.
I had read the manual of advice in virtually every creative writing. Write what you know. And I began to understand we were not talking about the plot and characters, but the place where the story goes like this.
Virginia what I knew was Southwest. But what could the world possibly as important as ever? Despite my skepticism, finally started a manuscript in a town in Virginia small resemblance to my hometown. This was the first of my books for sale. Not coincidentally, I'm sure. How did I finally see what was around me and what others might find attractive about it? Looking at where I lived and what it has meant to me.
The physical beauty of Virginia is indisputable. Spring arrives with his brush color green. Summer fills the orchards of apples and peaches, thick grass fields for forage. Maple Fall sauces and oak in red and gold. Winter brings ice across our lakes and leather our roads under the snow.
Those are the lines broadbrush of my story, but I think the details that bring value to life comes from the individual sites that populate a small community. From the main street of my childhood, it was Ben Franklin store Melody. Drug Kittinger of the store, five and ten and N. Morris Brammer's Department Store. Ben Franklin was the favorite. After unearthing the coins for the meter, you go down to the toy section. The bar was downstairs, and I can remember smell delicious steamed buns for hot dogs and french fries floating in greeting.
The store Melody was the place to buy on 45 – Yes, I know, I'm dating someone! Kittinger's of Cherry Coke. And Brammer five to ten years, my sister and I stocked up on five sweets percent who sells at high prices our cousins in the store pretending that you created in the basement of my grandmother.
Shops Country appear in my stories on a regular basis and I am sure that their source is the property of my aunt and uncle. My sister and I spent many Saturday nights there with our grandparents. All the adults sat on the stool in the middle of store and talked, sipping the Sun, gout and ate fries Wise bags bright blue. Much of my love for this place where I grew up comes from my grandfather. He loved going out and looking at it. Bright and early Sunday mornings, my sister and me up in his old Chevrolet blue and white and go over the Quickette local newspaper in the morning. He always had a detour of sorts, to see the cows, look hay, to see a horse that was thinking of buying for us. These were adventures, and learned the county roads as our own backyard.
Parts of these areas have demonstrated in each of my books. I loved it, and I think that rings true with readers. I have traveled a bit since the early manuscripts, and although I venture out in future books to other scenarios, it is with a healthy respect for gold in my own backyard.
