Model Ships Harbor
Model Ships Harbor

How late should leave the ship from the port to prevent the earth?
The minimum depth of d feet of water in a port of t hours after can be modeled midnight approx. by the function d (t) = 35 15 cos0.5t where 0 ≤ t ≤ 24. A ship with a draft of 25 feet is in the port at midnight. What time should come on land to prevent and when is the next time I get back to the port? I think the maximum water depth was 20 feet deep 50 'min. He connected on 25 of d (t), but this was obviously wrong. Any help that put me in the right direction would be appreciated.
d (t) = 35 + 15cos (0.5T) Set 25 = d (t) 25 = 35 + 15cos (0.5T) -10 = 15 cos (0.5T) -2 / 3 = Cos (0.5T) = 0.5t acos (-2 / 3 ) t = 2 * acos (-2 / 3) = 4.601 hours = 4:36:04 AM = must exit through the return = (2pi – 4.601) + 2pi = 7.965 = 7:57:55 AM
