What wood would be best to use to create a model ship?
I am looking for the types of wood that are cheap and commercially available in Britain (the wood does not really have to be natives of Great Britain, however, it may be) that I use to create a model ship. It also mentions that good wood supply companies will be helpful.
My preference for wooden boats is under-wood: it is almost as light as balsa, but much stronger. Then I would be oak, birch, or mahogany. I use products Midwestern http://www.midwestproducts.com/index.asp I hope they're available in the United Kingdom. GOOD LUCK
